WEST HAVEN – Wayne LeRoy Fowers, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, returned to his Heavenly Father Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the age of 61 due to complications of cancer.
Wayne was born December 10, 1945 in Ogden, Utah son of Ammon and Luella Fowers. He grew up in the Wilson area and attended Wilson Elementary, Wahlquist Junior High and Weber High School. Wayne married his eternal companion Jessie Fausett, November 3, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 39 years together.
He was employed by Ogden City Water Department, self-employed as a General Contractor, cabinet and counter top installer. He retired after 19 years from Pioneer Door Sales. Wayne was an excellent craftsman and took great pride in completing each project as if he were working on his own home.
Wayne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Central States mission, had a strong testimony and loved the gospel. He served as a ward clerk, held various positions in the Elders and High Priests, Scouting program, Special Needs Mutual and as a Ward Missionary.
He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing trips with his family. Wayne loved activities such as gardening, yard work, riding horses, and working on various wood projects. His greatest joy was spending time with his sweetheart, children and grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Jessie; one son, Brett (Chyrelle) of West Jordan; three daughters, Julie (Jeff) Christensen of West Haven, Sheila (Shawn) Wayment of Roy, Michelle of West Haven; five grandsons, Seth, Weston, Jaeden, Isaiah Fowers and Colton Wayment; two granddaughters, Kimberlynn Fowers and Hannah Wayment; two brothers Robert (Tammy) Fowers of Farr West, Bryan (Lora) Fowers of Fielding; on sister, Relda (Carl) Busboom.
